Hosting an ICCA Congress

Bids are usually received to host an ICCA Congress 4.5 years in advance of the event.

The next Congress interested parties can bid to host is the 2024 Congress.


ICCA's biennially held Congresses attract a large number of participants from across the globe and have made significant contributions to the development of dispute resolution theory and practice. Renowned for stimulating in-depth discussion and providing new insights on matters related to international arbitration, the ICCA Congress is the largest regular conference devoted to international arbitration and caters to both newcomers and experts in the arbitration community.

The XXVth ICCA Congress will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland from 10-13 May 2020.

Bidding schedule to host the 2024 ICCA Congress

ICCA will be accepting bids to host the 2024 Congress in the second half of 2019. We encourage interested parties to review the bidding schedule and bidding guidelines before submitting their bids.

10 December 2019: submission of outline of candidacy for pre-qualification
11 February 2020: Congress Committee decision regarding pre-qualification
17 April 2020: submission of final bid
10 May 2020: presentation of final bid to Governing Board meeting in Edinburgh
