Call for Speaker Expressions of Interest for 2018 ICCA Congress in Sydney

Call for Speaker Expressions of Interest for 2018 ICCA Congress in Sydney

ICCA is pleased to present the preliminary programme for the 24th ICCA Congress to be held in Sydney, Australia from 15 – 18 April 2018. The theme for the 24th Congress is Evolution and Adaptation: The Future of International Arbitration. Under this heading, issues such as the legitimacy of law-making processes, adaptation in the face of substantive and practical challenges, involvement of public bodies and public interests in arbitration, and the challenges and opportunities of modernity will be addressed. The Programme Committee for the 2018 Congress invites all ICCA Members and other parties to express their interest to participate as speakers at the Congress.

Descriptions of the panels planned for the 2018 Congress as well as a draft programme are now available at the link below. All speakers will be required to submit publishable papers, complying with ICCA guidelines on length and style, eight weeks before the Congress.

All expressions of interest should be sent to the Co-Chairs of the Programme Committee, Jean Kalicki and Mohamed Abdel Raouf, at Speaker2018@arbitration-icca.org, and should indicate (a) the speaker’s nationality, affiliation and qualifications, (b) the panel or panels on which the speaker would be interested in speaking, and (c) a short statement as to what unique or compelling perspective the speaker would like to bring to such panel(s).  The Programme Committee seeks in particular proposals from speakers who have not been speakers at the last two ICCA Congresses.

Expressions of interest should be sent as early as possible, and no later than 15 May 2017.  All expressions of interest will be considered by the Programme Committee, although due to the large number the Committee expects to receive, the Committee likely will not be able to accommodate all, or even most, requests.
