Counting Down to ICCA 2020 Edinburgh
As the 25th biennial ICCA Congress in Edinburgh, Scotland draws near, ICCA would like to remind Congress delegates and ICCA Members of the myriad events and networking opportunities to enjoy, as well legal landmarks to visit, in Edinburgh between 10 – 13 May 2020.
Our Host City
Upon your arrival in Edinburgh, be sure to visit the city’s impressive collection of historic legal landmarks. A vibrant metropolis at the heart of the Scottish judiciary, Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Site status means that the city’s rich legal history has been perfectly preserved and can be easily accessed from the ICCA 2020 Congress venue. Enjoy browsing a magnificent collection of legal publications at the Signet Library before visiting Parliament House – home to the Scottish Supreme Courts and the Scottish Bar (the Faculty of Advocates) – and continuing to the famous Scott Monument in Princes Street Gardens.

At the Congress
Once the ICCA 2020 Congress begins on Sunday 10 May, there will be multiple opportunities to catch up on the work of ICCA’s Project Groups at breakfast and lunchtime seminars. For example, the ICCA-ASIL Damages Task Force will present its electronic app on the quantification of damages, the ICCA-IBA Joint Data Protection Task Force and ICCA-NYC Bar-CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity will celebrate the launch of their respective reports, and Young ICCA will showcase its Mentoring Programme. Meanwhile, delegates can also enjoy traditional Ceilidh dancing and a gala dinner at the Scottish National Museum amongst friends and colleagues. Please remember to purchase a ticket for the gala dinner upon registering for ICCA 2020.
Young ICCA will round off the Congress with one of its signature Skills Training Workshops on Wednesday 13 May to mark Young ICCA’s 10th anniversary.
