New York Convention Roadshow in Livingstone, Zambia

On 16 November 2016, a New York Convention Roadshow was held in Livingstone, Zambia. This full-day, in-person event was offered to Zambian judicial officers and comprised eight sessions. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Justice Charles Kajimanga, FCIArb, of the Zambian Supreme Court. Sessions that followed were delivered by Mr. Vlad Movshovich, Partner at Webber Wentzel, Johannesburg. He provided an overview of the New York Convention, an in-depth analysis of each of the Convention’s main articles (Articles I-VII), and two sessions on issues specific to Zambian arbitration law. The day ended with an interactive Q&A session. Participants were also equipped with ICCA’s Guide to the Interpretation of the 1958 New York Convention.
