Nakul Dewan is one of the youngest to have been designated as a Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court of India. He is also a Barrister at the leading commercial set, Twenty Essex, both in Singapore and London, and one of the only Indians to have rights of audience before courts in India, Singapore and London.

Short Bio
Doran has over 40 years of experience as an English-qualified legal practitioner, initially as a barrister and subsequently as a transactional solicitor with Allen & Overy and Dentons. He was based in London for many years and then in Moscow.
He has extensive legal experience of the international petroleum industry, both in-house and in private practice. He worked in the City of London for over a decade, during which he became known for his work on oil and gas M&A transactions as well as his regulatory expertise. He advised clients on commercial and financing transactions in Russia for over 20 years and was valued for his strategic counsel.
In April 2019 he returned to practice in London as an international arbitrator from chambers in Gray’s Inn. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Mr. Donovan is Co-Head of the International Disputes Group at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and teaches International Arbitration and International Investment Law and Arbitration at the New York University School of Law. He is also a visiting professor at the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London. He serves as a member of the US Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on International Law, a member of the Advisory Committees of the American Law Institute for the Restatement of US Foreign Relations Law and for the Restatement of the US Law of International Commercial Arbitration (ITA), and he has also served as an Alternate Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
