Catherine Amirfar is Co-Chair of the International Disputes Resolution and Public International Law Groups at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and sits as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. She is the immediate Past President of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), the pre-eminent learned society in the United States dedicated to international law. With over twenty years of experience, Ms. Amirfar is recognized as a top practitioner in international disputes globally. Her practice focuses on international commercial and treaty arbitration, international litigation and public international law. She regularly appears in U.S. courts and before international courts and arbitration tribunals, including the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Ms. Amirfar serves as a Member of the U.S. Department of State’s Advisory Committee on International Law, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Advisory Committees of the American Law Institute for the Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law of the United States and for the Restatement of the U.S. Law of International Commercial Arbitration. She is a member of the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the leading global organization of international arbitrators and arbitration practitioners, and serves as Co-Chair of the ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages in International Arbitration. She is also a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association. From 2014 to 2016, Ms. Amirfar served as Counselor on International Law to the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State in the Obama Administration, for which she received the State Department’s Superior Honor Award in recognition of her contributions to the Department.

David has primary responsibility for managing the practice of each member of Atkin Chambers and for delivering a high-quality service to members’ clients globally. His detailed knowledge of each member’s respective practice ensures he is well-placed to advise clients on the most appropriate counsel for their case.
David was named Chambers CEO of the Year in 2022 for the second time in The Legal 500 UK Bar Awards (he also won in 2015). In 2011 he was named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100.

David was chairman of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks between 2010 and 2013, and is a current member of Counsel magazine’s editorial board. He is also a vice-president of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and he sits on the Technology and Construction Courts Users Committee. David is a former advisory board member of the IBA Law Firm Management Committee.

Mr Baskaran is on the panel of several international arbitration centres and has been appointed as arbitrator in a variety of commercial disputes. Mr Baskaran is the author of Arbitration in Malaysia: A Commentary on the Malaysian Arbitration Act (Wolters Kluwer 2019). Mr Baskaran is a Regional Pathway Leader of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a past Chair of the CIArb Malaysia Branch (2017-19). Mr Baskaran has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal as Arbitration Future Leader since 2017. Mr Baskaran has also been recognized in the Legal 500 Arbitration Private Practice Powerlist 2022. Tom Bathurst was called to the bar in 1977 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1987.
He was a member of the Australian Government Takeovers, Mergers and Corporate Reconstructions Panel between 2006 and 2011.
He served as President of the Australian Bar Association between 2008 and 2010 and as President of the NSW Bar Association from 2009 to 2011.
Tom served as Chief Justice of New South Wales from 1 June 2011 until his retirement on 5 March 2022.
He was made a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2014 and was elected an Honorary Bencher of the Middle Temple in 2016.
In 2019 Tom received an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Member of the Australian Academy of Law.
