Short Bio
I am one of the early pioneers of the international arbitration practice in California and, as far as I know, the only one who has worked continuously in that specialty from the start to the end of a lengthy career. I primarily served as counsel in large complex international cases in a range of industries, many involving foreign sovereigns and their instrumentalities, such as state-owned energy companies. I also served as lead counsel in a number of international litigation cases and regulatory proceedings. In addition to my cases as counsel, I have served as an arbitrator on many occasions despite often having to decline due to conflicts. I am now an independent arbitrator focused on cross-border commercial disputes.
