ICCA signs MoU with the ICDR® to make arbitral awards available in the ICCA Awards Series

ICCA is pleased to announce its collaboration with the International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR), the international division of the American Arbitration Association® (AAA®), to make anonymised arbitral awards available in the ICCA Awards Series. This collaboration is particularly welcome in the path towards ICCA’s XXVIIIth Congress, hosted by the AAA-ICDR® and CalArb, in San Francisco in May 2028.

Speaking to the agreement, ICCA General Editor Stephan Schill said:

“We are delighted to expand our collaboration with the ICDR to the publication of awards in the ICCA Awards Series. This partnership further enhances the ICCA Publications’ global reach, enabling the Awards Series to include awards rendered under the auspices of institutions based in the United States, Europe, Africa, and the MENA region that play a fundamental role in the development of the transnational justice system.”

The ICCA Awards Series was launched in 2023 and continues the Yearbook’s mission of providing a curated selection of high-quality, relevant awards and decisions, accompanied by an abstract that carves out the central issues addressed by tribunals, and a summary that encompasses the relevant facts of the case, as well as additional in-depth indexing. Going forward, anonymised awards from the ICDR will join this collection contributing to ICCA’s aim to support the arbitral community in navigating the ever-increasing body of available resources.

AAA-ICDR Division Vice President of Education Services, Steve Andersen, said:

“Partnering with ICCA to include ICDR awards in the ICCA Awards Series reinforces our commitment to collaboration, transparency, and excellence in international arbitration. We value the opportunity to align with ICCA’s important work in making high-quality arbitral materials more accessible, and we look forward to contributing meaningfully to the global dialogue in the lead-up to the 2028 Congress.”

The International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the international arm of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), provides dispute resolution services for parties across the globe, handling cases with parties from more than 90 countries over the past 5 years. The AAA, a not-for-profit founded in 1926, has administered more than eight million cases across a wide range of industries. ICCA looks forward to collaborating with the ICDR on the publication of awards and working together towards a successful Congress in San Francisco in 2028.

The 2023 and 2024 volumes of the ICCA Awards Series are available online, as well as in print on demand through Kluwer Arbitration.
