- Maria Chiara is Full Professor of International law in Italy. She was President of UNIDROIT until 2025. She is senior legal advisor to the World Bank on legal reform of payment systems, financial markets, and governance, and to the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs on trade matters. An international arbitrator for commercial disputes and foreign direct investments included in various rosters, she supports the General Attorney’s Office of Italy in the procedures opened against Italy as for international investment law. She has been legal assistant and chief of cabinet at the European Court of Justice, and senior expert at the ECB. She currently practices as an attorney in Rome and Milan. Dr. Malaguti holds degrees in law and in economics, an LLM from Harvard Law School and a PhD from the EUI. She has various publications.

- Ali Malek KC is a leading barrister in England and Wales specialising in all aspects of commercial law. He has substantial experience in international arbitration both as counsel and as an arbitrator. He has been appointed as arbitrator in disputes under many institutional rules including HKIAC, ICC, ICSID, LCIA and SIAC.
Mr Malek KC obtained his MA and BCL at Keble College, Oxford University and was called to the Bar in 1980 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1996.

- Carole Malinvaud is a partner at Gide Paris where she co-heads the international arbitration activity of the firm and chairs the Gide Pro Bono endowment fund. Carole is a member of the Paris and New York Bars.
Carole has recently been focusing on arbitrations relating to construction, energy and defence, as well as post acquisition disputes. She also acts as arbitrator in several ICC and ICSID arbitrations.

- Marcus is head of the Dispute Resolution Department, with extensive experience of complex national and cross-border litigation and arbitration in a number of areas of civil and commercial law, including shipping and aviation. He has acted as co-counsel and expert witness in cross-border matters in New York, London, Houston, The Bahamas and Canada.
Marcus taught law for seven years, has been part of the Roman Law Research Group of the Law School of the University of São Paulo (1995-2002) and of the Teaching Assistance Program of the same University (2000-2002), and was a visiting researcher at the “Istituto di Diritto Romano” of the School of Law of the University of Rome I – “La Sapienza” (2003). - Kieran is a dual-qualified (England & Wales / New
York) disputes specialist in international arbitration and complex cross-border litigation and Head of Gateley’s Cross-Border Disputes Group.
