ICCA Congresses

ICCA’s biennial Congress is the largest regular gathering of international dispute resolution specialists worldwide. Practitioners and academics from across the globe come together over a period of several days to present and discuss papers on different aspects of international dispute resolution. ICCA Congresses are known for stimulating development in the field of international arbitration, and cater to both newcomers and experts in the dispute resolution community.

 

The XXVIIIth ICCA Congress will take place in San Francisco from 7-10 May 2028 and the XXIX ICCA Congress will take place in Cape Town in 2030.

The XXVIIth ICCA Congress took place in Madrid from Sunday, 12 April to Wednesday, 15 April 2026 and focused on the theme: International Arbitration: Local, Global or Both?”.

Bidding to Host the Congress

ICCA Congresses aim to strengthen the practice of international arbitration in the host country. The next two ICCA Congresses will be held in San Francisco from 7-10 May 2028 and in Cape Town in 2030.

 

The bidding process for the XXXth ICCA Congress will begin in 2027 and further details will be provided in due course. For reference purposes, prospective hosts can find the previous bidding schedule, bidding guidelines (June 2025) and FAQs below. Please note that these documents will be updated before the next bidding cycle begins.
