ICCA Releases 2026 Madrid Congress Preliminary Programme and Issues Call for Speakers

On behalf of the ICCA 2026 Madrid Programme Committee, we are pleased to release the preliminary programme for the XXVIIth ICCA Congress, and to invite expressions of interest to speak at the event.

 

The upcoming Congress will take place from 12-15 April 2026 and will focus on the theme “International Arbitration: Local, Global or Both?”. Within this theme a range of subjects will be explored, such as the interplay between established local practices and the growing importance of universal soft law standards, arbitration as a stabilizing force in today’s geopolitical landscape, the impact of sanctions on arbitration proceedings, arbitration in the age of space commerce, how to strengthen the perceived legitimacy of arbitration across the globe, and much more.

Those interested in speaking at ICCA 2026 Madrid are invited to submit an expression of interest by the 2 October 2025 deadline. The Programme Committee, led by Samaa Haridi, Vladimir Pavić, and Tom Sikora, look forward to hearing from potential speakers.

 

Expressions of interest should be sent to the Co-Chairs of the Programme Committee via this online form. Applicants will be required to upload a current CV, specify which panel(s) they would like to speak on and submit a short statement on what unique or compelling perspective they would bring to the discussions.

 

If selected, speakers will be required to submit publishable papers, complying with ICCA guidelines on length and style, eight weeks before the Congress. Final papers will be published in the dedicated Madrid Congress volume of the ICCA Congress Series.
