Mr. Carlos Nehring Netto

Nominated a member in 1995, being the first Brazilian lawyer accepted in the Council. His first task was to prepare a new National Report for the International Handbook on Commercial Arbitration, under advice of Prof. Sanders. Besides, he has been able to introduce, promote and spread the image of ICCA in the country, profiting from the wave of progress that arbitration reached in Brazil..

General Bio

Mr. Nehring graduated at the National Law University and actively participates in various worldwide arbitral institutions. Founder of Nehring & Associados - Advocacia since its creation in1967. Various publications in Brazilian and Foreign midia, including Revue de Droit des Affaires Internationales and Journal of International Arbitration. Speaks and writes English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Awards, Nominations and Special roles

Mr. Nehring has been nominated a CHEVALIER DE L’ORDRE DU MERITE in recognition of legal services rendered to French enterprises. He was the Brazilian member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC for three mandates (from 1987 through 1996). He has served twice as Chairman of the Arbitration Center of the American Chamber of Commerce in S. Paulo. Teaches arbitration at FGV University.
