Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop on the Basics of International Arbitration

We are pleased to invite you to attend a Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop that will take place in Port Louis on 13 November 2019, from 9:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs, followed by a networking lunch.

The theme of the Workshop is the Basics of International Arbitration, focusing on two topics: “Written advocacy in international arbitration” and “Public policy as a ground for setting aside international arbitration awards”. The first topic will be addressed by a panel consisting of practitioners with experience as counsel or  arbitrator, who will discuss this topic from their different perspectives. The second topic will feature arbitration practitioners well versed in matters of international arbitration and public policy, who will give a theoretical background on the topic of public policy and will discuss key issues concerning the Betamax case.

Application and registration: There are 40 spots available and 20 of them are reserved for Young ICCA members. Participants will generally be confirmed on a first come first served basis.
