Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop
I’ve received an arbitral award: what’s next?

On behalf of Young ICCA and the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, we are pleased to invite you to attend a skills training workshop at the Liechtenstein Palace in Prague during the afternoon of 9 October, 2019.

The workshop will take place between 4:30pm – 7pm and will include a discussion of enforcement, annulment and other post-award considerations. There are 40 spots available for the workshop participants, who will also be allowed to attend two other events on 9 October: a practical session for respondent States; and a program on quantum issues in investment arbitration. Following the workshop, participants will be invited to a cocktail reception within the Palace grounds, commencing at 7pm. 

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, participation in all events on 9 October is free-of-charge, and YICCA will also provide complimentary shared hotel accommodation for up to 20 participants for the night of 9 October.

The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and KPMG have also extended an invitation for up to 30 workshop participants to attend the main event of the 9th Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference on 10 October (program here), at a cost of EUR 40 per person.

Registration:  Please carefully read the following instructions and then visit the registration portal:

  • Select “Young Practitioners Session” from the list, as well as any other events on 9 October that you wish to attend.
  • If you wish to attend (and pay the registration fee for) the main conference program on 10 October, please select the box next to “Main Conference Programme.”
  • Complete all required fields, and indicate “Young ICCA” in the “Note” text box.
  • If you wish to apply for one of the 20 spots in the hotel accommodation, please also indicate in this box: “I would like to be considered for a place in the twin, shared hotel accommodation for the night of 9 October, 2019.”

Please note that registration for the workshop on 9 October and for the main event on 10 October, as well as the accommodation spots, will generally be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  Participants are expected to bear their costs of transportation to, from and within Prague, as well as incidental expenses.  They are further responsible for any necessary visa arrangements.

This event will be video recorded, attendees should contact the steering committee before the event if they do not wish to be video-recorded or photographed.
