Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop - New Delhi

Cross-examination in International Arbitration

We are pleased to invite you to attend a Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop on Cross-examination in International Arbitration which will be held on 13 October 2018 in New Delhi, India. The Workshop is conducted in partnership with CIArb YMG. 

The Skills Training Workshop will take place at the Grand Ballroom of The Leela Palace, New Delhi from 09:30 to 17:30. It will consist of presentations made by experienced practitioners on the basics of cross-examination in international arbitration, followed by a practical cross-examination exercise, during which the participants will be able to test their skills on mock factual witnesses, before mock arbitral tribunals.

The detailed programme and the faculty members will be announced shortly. The Workshop will include a working lunch. It will be followed by drinks, to provide a networking opportunity to the participants and faculty in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Additional information: Thanks to the generous support of ICCA and our sponsors, we will provide accommodation for 20 of our members residing outside of New Delhi in a central hotel for two nights, 12 and 13 October 2018 (twin bedrooms to be shared), on a first come first served basis. Please indicate in your email whether you would like to apply for accommodation. 

Application and registration: There are 45 spots available and 15 of them are reserved for Young ICCA members. Participants will generally be confirmed on a first come first served basis. In addition to Young ICCA participants, the workshop will be attended by CIArb YMG members and local arbitration practitioners and students. 

To apply, please send a short email captioned “Young ICCA-CIArb YMG Workshop in New Delhi” stating your interest along with a resume to yiccanewdelhi2018@youngicca.org, and indicate whether you are interested in performing a cross-examination during the afternoon session. Please kindly note in this regard that we may not be able to accommodate all requests to do the cross-examination, but that other active roles, such as drafting the cross-examination script, will be available. Please also indicate whether you would like to attend the networking drinks. 

All participants are expected to bear their costs of transportation to, from and within Delhi, as well as incidental expenses. They are further responsible for any necessary visa arrangements.
