Prof. Sergei Lebedev

Prof. Lebedev is a professor of law at the Moscow Institute for International Relations and the Head of the Private International and Civil Law Department. Since 1972, he has also been the president of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of several foreign arbitral institutions. He has acted in over 600 arbitral cases and is an Honoured Jurist of the Russian Federation. Since 1996, he has acted as a member of the Russian President’s Council for Judicial Reforms.

Prof. Lebedev has published several books, articles and other publications on private international law, comparative civil law, legal matters of international commerce, maritime law, arbitration.

Awards

Prof. Lebedev is a recipient of the Order “Friendship among the Peoples” and of the Swedish Royal Order “Commander of Polar Star” (2003)
