He is serving as Vice President of ICCA since 2002. As a member of ICCA from 1978 he was the co-author of Chapter on Hungarian Arbitration in the International Handbook of Commercial Arbitration. He was also a member of the Editorial Board of ICCA publications. He served at most ICCA congresses and conferences as reporter, commentator or chairperson.
 

General bio

In-house counsel of several big foreign trade companies. Afterwards secretary general of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Trade. From 1987-1992 Ambassador of Hungary to the European Communities. From 1990 partner of Strook & Strook & Lavan L.L.P. (USA) and from 2000 senior advisor of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. (USA). 

Member of the Court of Arbitration of ICC (Paris). Arbitrator in more than 200 international and domestic commercial arbitrations. He has wide arbitration practice includes construction, M & A, sale. Member of the UNCITRAL WG drafting UNCITRAL Rules and chairman of the UNCITRAL WG drafting the Model Law of Arbitration.  He is also author of several books and studies on international trade law published in several languages.
