Prof. Dr. Bunni is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Arbitrator, Conciliator/Mediator and Visiting Professor in Construction Law and Contract Administration, Trinity College Dublin. Past President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; Past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland. He has gained unique perspective of international dispute resolution in construction through appointments involving parties from over fifty jurisdictions.
Prof. Dr. Bunni is currently a member of: the Commission on International Arbitration of ICC and is involved in many of its Standing Committees; Board of Trustees of Dubai International Arbitration Centre and Chairman of its Executive Committee; and the FIDIC Contracts Committee. He is also Chairman of Engineers Ireland Dispute Resolution Panel. Often appointed under ICC Rules of Arbitration; LCIA Arbitration Rules; UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules; or the Rules of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
Prof. Dr. Bunni is author of many technical papers and three books: “Construction Insurance and the Irish Conditions of Contract”, 1986; “Risk & Insurance in Construction”, 2nd edition, 2003; and “The FIDIC Forms of Contract” 3rd edition, 2005. He has received many awards including: innovation award in structural design; Engineers Ireland Premier Award in 1995; and again in 2004 for his “contribution of outstanding merit to the benefit of” its members. Frequently nominated as arbitrator by many international arbitral institutions.
