Professor Tawil is currently a Chair Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Buenos Aires Law School and a Senior Partner at M. & M. Bomchil in Buenos Aires, where he heads the International Arbitration, Administrative Law and Regulatory Matters practices of his firm. He is the Senior Vicechair of the International Bar Association´s Arbitration Committee and the Chair of its Latin American Forum. He also serves as a member of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) Academic Council, of the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group and of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce Advisory Committee, among other entities. Professor Tawil has published five books and over one hundred articles in his fields of practice.
Professor Tawil has been distinguished by the University of Buenos Aires with the Law School Award for the best doctoral dissertation and by the Buenos Aires Bar with the Alejandro E. Shaw Award for his contributions in the fields of commercial and administrative law. He has served as a member of the Scholars´ Committee in charge of drafting Argentina’s Uniform Code of Legislation and as member of several committees appointed by the Argentine authorities in order to draft several federal regulations.
