Prof. Pierre Lalive d'Épinay is Senior Partner and Co-Founder of LALIVE Attorneys, Geneva, and Founder, Editorin-Chief of the Bulletin of the Swiss Arbitration Association(ASA). Professor Emeritus Geneva University. Member (elected) and former President (1989-1991) of the Institut de Droit International. Honorary President of ASA and of the ICC Institute of World Affairs (Paris).

Doctor honoris causa of the Universities of Lyon (1976), Paris (1982), Brussels (1989) and Rome (1996). Balzan
Prize for Private International Law (1995). Visiting Professor in Universities Columbia, Lyon, Paris, Brussels, SMU (Texas). Arthur Goodhardt Professor of Legal Science, Cambridge, U.K., and Fellow of King's College. Counsel for Governments in several cases before the International Court of Justice. President of the INTELSAT Group of Legal Experts. Arbitrator or Counsel in many international cases (ICC, ICSID, CAS, ad hoc, etc.). President of the Diplomatic Conference UNIDROIT on Stolen and illegally exported Cultural Objects (1995). One of the 7 experts called upon to draft the Federal Code of Private International Law.
