General bio

Andrew Clarke joined Mobil North Sea Limited (now part of Exxon Mobil Corporation) in 1987. During his career with the company he has worked as General Counsel of the legal department in the company’s affiliates in Turkey, Qatar, and the U.K. he has also worked in overseas assignments in Indonesia, America and Qatar. He has a reasonable command of French, as well as Indonesian and Turkish. Educated at Magdalen College School in Oxford; Stowe School in Buckinghamshire and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (MA (Hons) Law), he was admitted as a barrister at Middle Temple in 1981.


Awards, Nominations and Special roles

Current appointments include: Advisory Council to the Centre of Commercial Law Studies (QMUL), Steering Committee (and Past Chair) of the Corporate Counsels' International Arbitration Group (CCIAG). Andrew is a Member of the Advisory Board to the Turkish Commercial Law Review and was appointed a Bencher of the Middle Temple (London) in 2009. In addition to his legal work, Andrew is also a keen vigneron, with his own property in Chablis, France.
